Week 30/52. My mom's family has a tradition of camping in the White Mountains of New Hampshire in late July every year. They started when my mother was a child, and as she and her 4 brothers and sisters grew up they continued to come along with my grandparents every year. When we lost my grandparents several years ago, we kept this tradition going, a special time for us to spend together for hiking, swimming, playing games, cooking our meals together, and having campfires at night. I have been camping in these beautiful mountains since birth, and now my husband and I bring our girls to share and create family memories with their cousins, aunts, and uncles.
Adelaide spent hours with her cousins our first night there, drawing rainbows, faces, and vegetables (don't ask, I still don't know why!) with chalk on the campsite roads. Sidewalk chalk is utter bliss for her since our home driveway is gravel. :)
Cecelia practically stole her older cousin's bike...she pushed it around ringing the bell saying "my bike, my bike!" She climbed onto the seat and rocked herself forward while waiting for someone to come push her up and down the road as she stretched her legs as far as possible trying to reach both pedals. Clearly next year we'll be graduating her from her tricycle to training wheels!
