Week 23/52. In an attempt to get outside and do some family things, we planned a picnic dinner at Winslow Park in Freeport. It was good to get out and we met our first (very sleepy) seal, but the girls weren't dressed quite warmly enough for the chilly foggy evening and of course Cecelia fell on her bum in the frigid water when we didn't have a change of clothes with us! You can't plan for everything, right? Adelaide LOVED the seal, she crept closer and closer until she was only a few feet away. He checked her out a few times, but mostly just snoozed while she barely contained her excitement :)
I also work in retail, so having the Memorial Day holiday off to spend with my extended family felt really special. The girls ran around my uncle's garden and fish pond, and Buddy was Cecelia's shadow much of the time. Seeing them together was so sweet, I gave a little thought to a family dog...and then thought about adding walking and feeding and vet visits to our already large piles of laundry, dishes and vacuuming. I laughed at myself for even considering getting a dog before the girls will actually care for one and took a few more sweet pictures with our borrowed dog for the day!
